Closing Nigeria's energy gap, project by project.
Canopi Technologies designs, structures, finances, and delivers bankable solar, battery storage, and mini-grid projects - connecting OEM technology, local execution capability, and development finance into projects that get built.
An integration partner, not just another developer.
Canopi Technologies is a renewable energy project development and integration company working across Nigeria's solar, battery storage, mini-grid, and productive-use electrification markets. We sit at the centre of a network - connecting OEM manufacturers, local implementation partners, financiers, government institutions, and development partners around projects that need all of them to succeed.
We are not a hardware vendor and we are not a single-discipline EPC contractor. Our role is to originate the opportunity, structure the project, assemble the right partners, and oversee delivery from concept through to operation.
Every project is structured from day one to meet the diligence standards of development finance institutions and commercial lenders.
Our founding team has operated inside Nigeria's largest energy access programme - not advised on it from the outside.
We bring qualified OEM, EPC, and financing partners into every project, with clear roles and accountability from the outset.
End-to-end renewable energy project delivery.
From early-stage origination to long-term asset management, Canopi covers the full lifecycle of a renewable energy project - so partners can engage at any stage with confidence in what happens next.

What makes us a credible delivery partner.
We built our positioning on what we have actually done - not on what we intend to do.
Execution at scale
Our founding team deployed over 60,000 Solar Home Systems across 34 Nigerian states under a signed World Bank Grant Agreement.
We know the frameworks
REA, DARES, NEP, and UNDP programme structures are understood from direct operating experience, not from documentation alone.
Built for delivery
Engineering, EPC, and equity relationships are structured with clear roles before a project begins - not assembled after.
Bankable by design
Every opportunity is assessed against realistic delivery routes. We would rather present ten executable projects than fifty theoretical ones.
Energy solutions shaped around how each sector operates.
Different sectors have different load profiles, financing routes, and operational constraints. Our project structuring reflects that from the start.
Government & Public Sector
Programme-aligned projects developed in partnership with federal and state institutions.
Commercial & Industrial Facilities
Behind-the-meter generation and storage to reduce cost and improve power reliability.
Industrial Clusters & SEZs
Shared or dedicated power infrastructure for special economic zones and industrial parks.

Rural & Underserved Communities
Mini-grid and Solar Home System deployment for communities outside reliable grid coverage.
What we bring to a project.
Canopi's capability set reflects the stage we are at: a focused, partner-led development platform with direct programme experience.
These capability areas reflect our current stage of development and the structured partnerships we maintain with technical and financial partners. Specific project claims are shared directly with partners and counterparties as appropriate.
Built to work alongside the people who deliver.
Canopi does not attempt to be the engineer, the manufacturer, and the financier on every project. We structure the right combination of partners around each opportunity - and maintain clear, accountable relationships with each.
OEM Manufacturers
We provide a structured route to market for solar, battery storage, and balance-of-system manufacturers entering or expanding in the Nigerian market — including channel partnership, local positioning, and programme-aligned product certification support.
EPC & Engineering Partners
We work with engineering and EPC partners who bring construction capability, technical depth, and where relevant, equity participation - aligning their delivery capacity with our origination and institutional access.
Financiers & DFIs
Projects are structured from the outset to meet the diligence requirements of development finance institutions, commercial lenders, and impact investors active in the Nigerian energy sector.
Government Agencies
We work directly with federal and state government bodies on programme-aligned projects - bringing private-sector execution capacity to public energy access objectives.
Development Institutions
Our team's direct experience within World Bank and donor-funded programmes informs how we structure projects for institutions such as the REA, UNDP, and similar agencies.
Local Technical Teams
In-country installation, after-sales, and field service capability ensures that what gets built keeps working - a requirement increasingly central to programme eligibility.
A power infrastructure group with over two decades of experience and active projects across Africa. A collaboration agreement is in place covering joint project development in priority programme areas.
An established solar hardware manufacturer. A channel partner agreement positions Canopi as the primary route to market for Ekotek's product range in Nigerian institutional and government channels.
Our founding team's prior work was carried out under a signed Grant Agreement with the Rural Electrification Agency and the World Bank under the Nigeria Electrification Project.
Engagement with UNDP-linked programme opportunities, including state-level energy access initiatives, supports our development finance pipeline.
Let's build the project that closes the gap.
Whether you're a manufacturer looking for a route into the Nigerian market, a financier assessing the pipeline, or a government partner exploring a programme - we'd like to talk.
Who we are.
A project development company built on direct experience
Canopi Technologies Limited is a Nigerian renewable energy company founded by practitioners with direct, on-the-ground experience deploying clean energy infrastructure at scale. We exist to close the gap between what Nigeria's energy access targets require and what currently gets built.
We work as an integrator - connecting OEM manufacturers, local implementation partners, financiers, government institutions, and development partners around projects in solar energy, battery energy storage, mini-grids, commercial and industrial energy, and productive-use electrification.
We are not a consulting firm and we are not a single-discipline contractor. We identify opportunities, structure them, secure access to programmes and capital, and bring the right partners together to deliver.
The market problem
Nigeria has a significant electricity access gap - measured in tens of millions of people without reliable power. The country has more than enough solar resource, more than enough entrepreneurial capacity, and growing attention from development finance institutions to address it.
What has been missing is the project development layer: the entity that can originate a bankable opportunity, navigate government and donor programme frameworks, assemble the right technical and financial partners, and see a project through from concept to operation.
Nigerians without access to reliable grid electricity - representing one of the largest renewable energy deployment opportunities on the continent.
To accelerate energy access in Nigeria by developing and delivering renewable energy projects that are bankable, scalable, and genuinely impactful - connecting the capital, the technology, and the communities that need it most.
A Nigeria where reliable, clean power is available to every business, institution, and community that needs it - delivered through a project development model that is replicable, fundable, and trusted by government, industry, and development partners alike.
The connective tissue between opportunity and execution.
Canopi's role is to sit between the parties that need to work together for a renewable energy project to happen, but rarely do so efficiently on their own. Government institutions hold the programme mandate and the policy framework. OEM manufacturers hold the technology. Financiers hold the capital. Local execution teams hold the delivery capability. Communities and businesses hold the demand.
We bring these together - structuring the project so that each party's contribution is clear, each party's risk is appropriately allocated, and the project as a whole is investable.
Led by people who have done this before.
Onye leads Canopi Technologies with a team whose prior operational experience includes the deployment of over 60,000 Solar Home Systems across 34 Nigerian states under a World Bank-funded programme - giving Canopi a foundation in programme delivery, institutional relationships, and on-the-ground execution that is uncommon among project developers at this stage.
